Solution

Our team of dynamic and passionate architects finished another successful project by:

  • designing for a total floor area of 2725m2

  • choosing materials for the proposed finish of the building to match the existing workshops on the SB Components site

  • security lighting dusk to dawn sensor-controlled provided to the site and parking areas

  • extended existing CCTV system

  • protection of existing security fencing to the boundaries with landscaping

  • 4.43m3 storage capacity for pipeage and drainage

The Full Story

Located within a commercial and industrial area, the proposed body shop and associated external works will extend the workspace to SB Components, manufacturers with 68,000 ft² of workshops.

The site, (located in Wisbwech) at present comprises of a vehicle compound and vehicle parking with a mixture of surface finishes. The site is bordered on three sides (North, South and East) with Internal Drainage Board (IDB) maintained drains and the public highway to the West. The site has existing security fencing to the boundaries with landscaping already present and this is to be protected during construction.

Creating a sustainable workspace that provides additional work

The site historically was used by the Sunday Market for car parking and has since been obtained under lease by SB Components to secure the continued success and growth of the company and the positive contribution it makes to the town of Wisbech.

In accordance with Fenland local planning this site will provide extra work, which will go towards opportunities for jobs growth in the district.

With these types of projects, the most important thing is to take in the existing and surrounding areas and design an improved yet sympathetic structure. This was achieved with great result and we’re happy to have helped provide a sustainable workshop that will provide additional jobs to Wisbech.
